Job Description

The Student Advocate /Customer Service Rep, responds to student needs via phone, email, text and chat. The Advocate will proactively take full ownership of the student's circumstance work to resolve an questions.

Responsible for handling a large amount of daily incoming calls and answering questions about the programs offered while providing excellent customer service.

Develop relationships and rapport with students, parents and alumni through verbal and written communication.

As needed, meet and answer questions of walk-in students through one-on-one visits.

Serve as event support staff at Graduation, once a year in June.

Represent the Texas Success Academy Community, by making prospective students aware of the opportunities they have for interaction with Instructors, our Student Advocacy.

Keep accurate and orderly documentation of all student communication verbal and written, as well as communication from parents and teachers.

Maintain the security and confidentiality of all student academic and financial records in accordance with FERPA laws.

Must Be Coachable

Minimum Qualifications:

- Commitment to the mission of Texas Success Academy

- High School Diploma from an accredited school, College Classes or an Associated Degree preferred (or job experience deemed appropriate by the Director of Schools)

- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products

- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written; attention to detail a must

- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as well as above-average problem solving and conflict resolution abilities

- Must be professional, organized, and possess superb listening and discerning skills

- Ability to look at situations from several points of view; persuasive with details and facts

- Must take initiative, be highly motivated and committed to teamwork and collaboration across departments

- Strong desire to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Ability to take on repetitive and high volume email and phone conversations with energy

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous customer service experience

- College classes in Communications, Business or Education helpful

Work Hours:

M-R, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm CST required. May turn into M-F.
Ability to work beyond normal (Special Events)
